  • Responsibilities

    As an employee for Coborn’s, Inc., the Supermarket Registered Dietician is responsible for providing science-based dietary and nutritional information and assistance to guests. This individual is also responsible for facilitating health and nutrition seminars and cooking demonstrations, personal consultations and grocery tours, developing promotional materials, and facilitating the Dietitians’ Choice Program. This individual is responsible for championing science-based health and wellness efforts, including partnering with local health organizations and clinics.

     

    • Provide science-based dietary guidance and nutritional education and consultations to guests via personal consultations, store tours, in-store seminars, etc. Most common conditions requiring guidance and education include heart disease, high blood pressure, weight loss, diabetes, food allergies, etc.
    • Facilitate in-store seminars and on various health and nutrition topics. Provide product and culinary demonstrations when applicable. Collaborate with Culinary Manager and Merchandising Leadership team to provide cooking demonstrations and nutritional trainings.
    • Champion community collaborations that support science-based health and wellness efforts, including partnering with local health organizations and clinics.
    • Support Supermarket Registered Dietitian Lead, as needed, in collaborating with Culinary and Catering Managers develop healthy and better-for-you offerings that reflect consumer preferences and trends within the fresh departments, including Catering. 
    • Support Supermarket Registered Dietitian Lead, as needed, in developing brochures, recipes, web site material and other promotional materials related to health and wellness.
    • Champion Dietitians’ Choice Program for the company. 
    • Actively engage guests over social media on a variety of platforms including Facebooks live videos.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics. One to two years related experience preferred. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and email systems. Working knowledge of nutrition labeling software preferred. Possess a current state driver’s license and valid insurance with the ability to travel to business locations as needed. Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). Current dietetics license with the state of residence (if applicable). Certified Food Safety Manager preferred.
